Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan was born in Bombay on March 14, 1965, to film producers Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain.

Khan is the oldest of four children, with a brother named Faisal and two sisters named Farhat and Nikhat. Imran Khan, his nephew, is a Bollywood star. Khan is also the second cousin of Abul Kalam Azad’s granddaughter, Najma Heptulla.

Dhobi Ghat, a Rao-directed art house film, was Khan’s home production released in 2011.

Education

Khan received his pre-primary education at J.B. Petit School, then transferred to St. Anne’s High School, Bandra, before the 18th grade, and finished his 9th and 10th grades at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim.

Khan returned to the big screen in 2005, starring in Ketan Mehta’s Mangal Pandey: The Rising, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
