Amitabh Bachchan biography

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad to Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a Hindi author, and Teji Bachchan, a social activist.

Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a Hindu Kayastha from Awadh who spoke Awadhi, Hindi, and Urdu fluently.

Harivansh Rai, on the advice of fellow poet Sumitranandan Pant, changed the boy’s name to Amitabh, which means “the light that will never fade.”

When his father was searching for a school for him, he and Bachchan’s mother determined that the family name should be Bachchan rather than Shrivastava.

Amitabh Bachchan debuted in films under this surname, and it has since become the surname for all of his immediate kin.

Bachchan’s mother passed away in 2007 and his father died in 2003.

He has hosted several seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati, India’s version of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Bachchan is known for his baritone voice, which is smooth and rich. He has worked as a narrator, playback singer, and producer for a variety of shows.

He was started to know as an “Angry Young man” in the 1970s as a result of his appearances in Hindi films such as Sholay, Zanjeer, and Deewaar.
