When he was three years old, his parents changed his name to Ayushmann Khurrana.
His father, P. Khurrana, is an astrologer and astrological author, while his mother, Poonam, is a homemaker who is of half-Burmese origin and holds an M.A. in Hindi.

While Ayushmann Khurrana continues to work in Mumbai, his family remains in Chandigarh.
His brother Aparshakti Khurana works as a radio DJ at Delhi’s Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and made his acting debut in Aamir Khan’s 2016 film Dangal.
