Within 24 hours of its release, his debut single, “DJ Waley Babu” starring Aastha Gill, reached number one on the Indian iTunes charts.
Within 30 hours, the song had over a million views on YouTube.
In 2016, he teamed with Navv Inder on “Wakhra Swag,” which won best duo/group and most popular song of the year at the 2016 Punjabi Music Awards.
His masterpiece, ‘Genda Phool,’ became one of the most financially successful yet controversial numbers in Indian history.

Badshah graduated from Bal Bharti Public School in Pitampura, Delhi, where he sang in the school chorus.
Prior to becoming a full-time musician, he studied math at the famous Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi before becoming a civil engineer at PEC, Chandigarh, where he was introduced to new Punjabi music, which encouraged him to pursue “rap” writing.
He claims that if he hadn’t been a rapper, he would have become an IAS officer.
Badshah began his career in the music industry as “Cool Equal,” but then changed his name to Badshah.

Badshah released his debut album, O.N.E. – Original Never Ends, in 2018.

Private & early life
In 2012, he separated Honey and launched his independent Haryanvi song Kar Gayi Chull, which was eventually used in the 2016 Bollywood film Kapoor & Sons.
His music has been on the soundtracks of Bollywood films such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Khoobsurat.
Badshah has a wife named Jasmine.
