Divine began his underground rap career in 2011 after finding hip hop on a T-shirt.
At school, he saw a buddy wearing a T-shirt from 50 Cent’s debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
The same friend gave him his first MP3 CD with hip-hop music, which prompted him to begin rapping in English.
He frequently raps on his own life experiences, such as the lives of Mumbai’s underprivileged.
His influences include American rappers Nas, Eminem, Big L, Tupac Shakur, 50 Cent, and Rakim.
Following the success of his song “Yeh Mera Bombay,” Divine caught the notice of Sony Music India.
On April 16, 2015, he released his debut single “Mere Gully Mein” with Naezy.
