The billionaire industrialist Nadar was born in 1945 in Moolaipozhi Village, in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, India.
His father was Sivasubramaniya Nadar and his mother Vamasundari Devi was the sister of S. P. Adithanar, founder of Dina Thanthi newspaper.
Education
Shiv Nadar has studied at Town Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam, later he was admitted to Elango Corporation Higher Secondary School, Madurai.
In June 1995, he was admitted into the 6th class and proceeded with his schooling until June 1997, in Town High School. Later for his high schooling, he had joined St. Joseph Boys Higher Secondary School, Trichy.
He has collected a degree in Electrical Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, and a pre-university degree in the American College, Madurai.
Career
In 1967, he has started his profession at Walchand group’s College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), but he shortly surrendered it to start his own endeavor, in organizations with a few friends and partners.
Shiv founded HCL in 1976 in a garage to make calculators and microprocessors.
Steadily strengthened the core of his company and renovated an IT enterprise from the IT hardware corporation over the next three decades.
The supporters to help Nadar were Ajai Chowdhry the Ex-Chairman of HCL, Arjun Malhotra (CEO and Chairman, Headstrong), S. Raman, Subhash Arora, DS Puri, Yogesh Vaidya, and Mahendra Pratap.

Philanthropy
In March 2008, Nadar SSN Trust announced the structure of two VidyaGyan schools in UP for rustic learners, where more than 200 students from 50 regions of Uttar Pradesh will be delivered free scholarships.
In February 2011, Nadar visited Town Higher Secondary School and contributed to a better education system by PCs and other supportive gadgets worth Rs. 80 lakhs.
He has donated over $662 million from his wealth to his Shiv Nadar Foundation, which supports educational causes.
