Education
In 2004, he graduated from Davenport West High School.
He was an introvert and a major admirer of rock and heavy metal music as a youngster, leading a straight-laced lifestyle.
On the outskirts of Chicago and Oak Park, Illinois, Rollins trained at Danny Daniels’ wrestling school.
Career
Lopez made his professional wrestling debut in 2005, under the ring name Gixx, on the Iowa indie circuit.
Black’s tag team partner Marek Brave suffered a legitimate back injury on May 25, 2007, while competing in a match with then-FIP Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) in Melbourne, Florida, prompting Black to pursue a singles career by competing in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he defeated Joey Ryan in his debut on June 10.
After Black lost a number one contender battle against Austin Aries at Final Battle in December 2008, Jacobs turned on him, and Black was assaulted by Aries.
After undergoing neck surgery in September 2009, Black went on leave.
Lopez signed a developmental deal with WWE on August 8, 2010, and in September was assigned to their developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).
Rollins beat Hunico in the finals to win the event and become the first FCW Jack Brisco 15 Champion on January 13, 2011.
Rollins made his main roster debut as a heel with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on November 18, 2012, at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event, assaulting Ryback during the triple threat main event for the WWE Championship, allowing CM Punk to pin John Cena and retain the championship.

Lopez is an agnostic who likes the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lopez founded The Black & The Brave Wrestling Academy, a professional wrestling school in Moline, with his former tag team partner Marek Brave in 2014.
Lopez founded 329 Dport, a coffee shop in his hometown of Davenport, Iowa, in February 2019.
On February 9, 2015, former NXT wrestler Zahra Schreiber, who was apparently Lopez’s girlfriend, sent a nude photo to his social media sites, which WWE.com immediately reposted.
Soon after, his then-fiancée, Leighla Schultz, uploaded nude images of Lopez on her Twitter profile. Lopez responded by apologising for “private images that were shared without permission.” Lopez announced his breakup with Schreiber on February 25, 2016, but did not specify the reason for the breakup.
Lopez found out he has a brother and a sister after completing a DNA test on September 10, 2019.
Lopez began dating Rebecca Quin, better known as Becky Lynch, a fellow professional wrestler, in January 2019. After months of conjecture, their relationship was made public in May.
