Jadeja was born on December 6, 1988, in Navagam Ghed, Jamnagar district, Gujarat, to a Gujarati Rajput family.

Anirudh’s father worked as a security guard for a private security firm.

His father wanted him to be an Army officer, but he preferred cricket, and he was terrified of his father as a boy.

In 2005, his mother Lata died in an accident, and the grief of his mother’s loss nearly drove him to retire from cricket. Naina, his sister, works as a nurse. Jamnagar is his home.

On April 17, 2016, Jadeja married Reeva Solanki. In June 2017, they welcomed a daughter into the world.

Youth career

At the age of 16, Jadeja made his debut for India’s Under-19 team in 2005. He was selected for the 2006 U/19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka by the Indian team.

India came in second place, with Jadeja taking three wickets in the final against Pakistan. He was the successful Indian team’s vice-captain at the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup.

He was instrumental with the ball in the competition, collecting 10 wickets at an average of 13 in six games.

First-class cricket

In the 2006–07 Duleep Trophy, Jadeja made his first-class debut. In the Duleep Trophy, he represented West Zone, while in the Ranji Trophy, he represented Saurashtra.

In 2012, Jadeja joined Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Bill Ponsford, Wally Hammond, WG Grace, Graeme Hick, and Mike Hussey as the eighth player in history (and the first Indian) to hit three first-class triple century in his career.

His first came against Orissa in early November 2011, when he scored 314 off 375 balls. His second came against Gujarat in November 2012, when he scored 303 not out.
