After reading a newspaper story about increasing citywide crime rates, Ardeshir Godrej started designing and selling locks with the help of his brother Pirojsha in Bombay in 1897.
Pirojsha Godrej’s son’s burger, Sohrab, and Naval succeeded in the second generation after Ardeshir Godrej died childlessly.
Adi, Nadir, and Jamshyd, the group’s grandsons, now run it.
