Rahul Bajaj was born in a Marwari family on June 10, 1938, and is the grandson of Indian freedom fighter Jamnalal Bajaj.
Education
Bajaj attended Harvard Business School, St. Stephen’s College in Delhi, Government Law College in Mumbai, and Cathedral and John Connon School in the United States.
Career
In 1965, he took over the Bajaj Party. Rahul Bajaj stepped down as chairman in 2005, and his son Rajiv took over as managing director of the company.
In 1979-80 and 1999-2000, Rahul Bajaj was elected president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
During the 2006-2010 term, Bajaj was elected to the Rajya Sabha, India’s Upper House of Parliament.
He divided Bajaj Auto into three divisions in 2008: Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv, and am holding firm. His sons are now in charge of the company’s day-to-day operations.
The patriarch’s older son Rajiv runs Bajaj Auto, which also manufactures and sells the Quote, a four-wheel quadricycle.
