Ettore Ewen, the son of Jamaican and Montserratian immigrants Ettore and Margaret Ewen, was born on March 1, 1986, in Tampa, Florida.
Following graduation, Ewen joined the University of Iowa, where he played defensive line for the Iowa Hawkeyes in American football.
He redshirted in 2004 and missed the 2005 season due to an injury suffered in preseason camp, only appearing once as a sophomore in 2006.

Education
He went to Wharton High School in Tampa, where he earned several athletic awards, including a state wrestling championship and the title of “Ironman of the Year” for Hillsborough County.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in arts. Following graduation, Ewen became interested in the discipline of powerlifting.
Career
In 2009, he convinced himself that he could be excellent at it and make a career at it, and WWE signed him to a developmental deal.
Langston and Calvin Raines won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship on May 12, 2011, defeating Richie Steamboat and Seth Rollins, but they were defeated by CJ Parker and Donny Marlow on July 21, 2011.
Langston made his NXT debut on August 1, 2012, defeating Adam Mercer after WWE renamed FCW as NXT.
Langston and Ziggler challenged Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) for the WWE Tag Team Championship on April 7, 2013, at WrestleMania 29.
Langston was a participant in the Royal Rumble match on January 26, 2014, but was eliminated by Sheamus.
The New Day lost to Tyson Kidd and Cesaro at the Royal Rumble on January 25, 2015, breaking their winning run.
They defended their championship against The Usos at the Royal Rumble on January 24, 2016.
As part of the Superstar Shake-up on April 11, 2017, Big E and The New Day were switched to the SmackDown brand.

Big E returned to SmackDown in late January 2022, partnering with Kofi Kingston as part of New Day and clashing with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss.
