Pattinson was born in London on May 13, 1986, as the youngest of three children to Clare (Charlton), a model scout, and Richard Pattinson, a vintage vehicle dealer.
He grew raised with two elder sisters, Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Victoria, in a tiny house in Barnes.
Pattinson began playing the guitar and piano when he was four years old.

Pattinson has professed a dislike for the paparazzi and tabloid journalism and has avoided discussing his personal life. He said in 2017 that he has suffered from anxiousness from his early years in the spotlight.
