Education
Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School were Ashwin’s educational institutions.
He also graduated with a BTech in Information Technology from SSN College of Engineering.
His tenure at St. Bede’s was especially significant since the school had a cricket academy.

Career
After a strong showing in the 2010 Indian Premier League, Ashwin was named to a second-string side that visited Zimbabwe in May and June 2010.
In the fourth and fifth One-Day Internationals during India’s tour of the West Indies in June–July 2011, Ashwin took just one wicket.
West Indies toured India for three Tests and five One-Day Internationals in November 2011. The only specialist spinners in the team were Ashwin and Ojha, with Harbhajan Singh excluded due to his poor form during the England trip.
