Acting career
In the early phases of his career, when he joined Kalakshetra in Bengaluru, Prakash Raj appeared in back-to-back stage plays for $300 a month, and he has over 2,000 street theatre performances to his credit.
Prakash started his career on television with Doordarshan serials like Bisilu Kudure (Kannada) and Guddada Bhootha (Tulu and Kannada).
Prakash returned to Kannada cinema in 1997 with T. S. Nagabharana’s Nagamandala, which was selected for the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival in 1997.
In 1996, he appeared in three Malayalam films: The Prince, Indraprastham, and Oru Yathramozhi, the latter of which came out in 1997.
In 2008, he produced and starred in the film Abhiyum Naanum, in which he also played a key role.
He made his acting debut in the Telugu film Bharat Ane Nenu (2018).
