Peyton Manning was born on March 24, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He started wearing the #18 jersey while at Newman in remembrance of his elder brother Cooper, who had to retire from football due to spinal stenosis.
When his younger brother Eli became the primary quarterback, he too wore the number.

Education
During his three seasons as the starting quarterback at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Louisiana, Manning led the Greenies to a 34–5 record.
In 1993, he was selected National Player-of-the-Year by the Gatorade Circle of Champions and National Offensive Player-of-the-Year by the Columbus (Ohio) Touchdown Club.
Manning was one of the most highly recruited high school football players in the country, with offers from more than 60 institutions.
College career
Manning decided to play collegiate football with Phillip Fulmer’s University of Tennessee Volunteers.
He started the season as the third-string quarterback as a freshman.

Manning was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Olivia and Archie Manning, a former NFL quarterback.
On St. Patrick’s Day, 2001, Manning married his bride, Ashley, in Memphis. Ashley, a University of Virginia graduate, met Manning through her parents’ next-door neighbor the summer before his freshman year in college. Marshall Williams and Mosley Thompson, the couple’s twins, were born on March 31, 2011, to the pair.
They are residents of Denver, Colorado. Manning resided in a house owned by Mike Shanahan until he bought his own house for $4.575 million when he arrived in Denver.
Manning allegedly knew the Colts’ playbook within a week after being picked, and he was able to recall the nuances and timing of a specific play he ran at Tennessee 16 years ago in 2012.
