Byju Raveendran was born in the village of Azhikode in Kerala, India, in 1981.
His parents were physics and math professors.

Career
Raveendran worked in a global IT job after school, and during a holiday in 2003, he assisted friends in preparing for the CAT test. He then took the CAT test, which he claims he passed with a score of 100 percentile.
He started to assist people in studying for the CAT exam two years later, and based on the positive results, he wanted to leave his career.
Raveendran created Byju’s Classes, a test preparation company, in 2007.
He is a former math teacher, who founded the online ed-tech firm Byju’s in 2011.
He created Byju’s with his partner, Divya Gokulnath, after meeting her while she was a student in his exam preparation class.
Byju’s released an app created by Raveendran in 2015, as mobile screen sizes grew. The software was launched in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other English-speaking countries in October 2018.
