Private & early life
In 1997, one year after his cinematic debut, Kalyan married Nandini. Kalyan and his co-star Renu Desai began living together in 2001, and their son Akira Nandan was born in 2004.
Nandini launched a bigamy action against Kalyan in June 2007, saying that he remarried without divorcing her.
Kalyan answered by claiming that he had not married Desai and that he had been absolved of the accusation owing to a lack of evidence by a magistrate court in Visakhapatnam.
Following that, in July 2007, Kalyan filed for divorce in Visakhapatnam’s family court, saying that Nandini abandoned him shortly after their marriage, which her counsel rejected.
Their divorce was finalized in August 2008, with Kalyan paying a one-time alimony payment of Rs. 5 crores.
After eight years of living together, Kalyan married Desai in 2009. Aadya, their daughter, was born in 2010.
In 2012, the couple divorced in an official manner. Desai stated in an interview in 2018 that Kalyan “insisted on a divorce despite her first protestations.”
She went on to say that Kalyan had turned down her desire to make a public declaration regarding their split.
During the filming of Teen Maar, Kalyan met his third wife, Russian citizen Anna Lezhneva (2011).
They married in September 2013 at a Sub-Registrar Office in Hyderabad under the Special Marriage Act.
