Anurag Agarwal, his father, is the CEO of Natural Remedies, a $35 million healthcare company.
Agarwal rose to fame following his achievements in the 2008-09 Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy and the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he was India’s highest run-scorer.

He made his first triple century in first-class cricket in November 2017, when he batted for Karnataka against Maharashtra in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, making 304 not out.
The Kings XI Punjab purchased him in the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018. With 723 runs in eight matches in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he was the leading run-scorer in February 2018.
