Rahul Bhatia was born on 18 December 1955, in Nainital, India.
He was born to his father- Kapil Bhatia (Executive Chairman of InterGlobe Enterprises Limited).
He had completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.
Rahul worked for IBM for two years on a project to build a fully automated screen production facility, while at the University of Waterloo.
He has also served in the Information Technology Department of United Airlines.
His father’s travel agency ran into difficulties when he was in Canada.
In 1989, he returned to India and founded InterGlobe Enterprises, a company that specializes in air transportation management.
In 2019, the Bhatias and Gangwal had a public spat over IndiGo’s management.
