Jadhav was born in Pune on March 26, 1985, to a middle-class family from Jadhavwadi in the Solapur district of Madha.
He comes from a family of four children and is the youngest of them all. Mahadev Jadhav worked for the Maharashtra State Electricity Board until 2003 when he retired.
Jadhav began playing cricket at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana in Pune’s western suburb of Kothrud.
Before being selected for the Maharashtra under-19 team in 2004, he represented Rainbow Cricket Club in tennis ball cricket events.

Domestic career
Jadhav was picked to India B’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October of this year.
International career
Jadhav was picked to India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April.
Indian Premier League
In 2010, Delhi Daredevils signed Jadhav, who had previously been a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) development squad. On his IPL debut, he made an early impact by scoring a 29-ball 50 for Delhi against RCB.
The following season, he was signed by Kochi Tuskers Kerala, however, he only played six games for them that year.
He was re-signed by Delhi in 2013, however, he was not retained by the franchise in the 2014 IPL auction before being bought back by the team for $20 million in 2014.
He scored 149 runs in ten innings for Delhi in 2014.
Jadhav was traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore for an unknown sum ahead of the 2016 IPL season. He was selected by Chennai Super Kings in 2018, but he was forced to withdraw from the competition after hurting his hamstring in the first match against Mumbai Indians.
Jadhav was purchased for INR 2 crores by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL auction in February 2021, ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
In the 2022 IPL auctions, he went unsold.
