On September 9, 1966, Sandler was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Judith “Judy,” a nursery school teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer.

His family is Jewish, with both sides descended from Russian-Jewish immigrants.

Sandler was born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he moved at the age of six.

Sandler debuted on The Cosby Program in 1987 as Smitty, Theo Huxtable’s friend, and on MTV’s game show Remote Control as the Stud Boy or Trivia Delinquent.
