Education
She also attended Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California, where she lived.
She was a collegiate basketball player for Palomar College in San Marcos, California.
Fanene went on to get a marketing degree from Cal State San Marcos in 2005.
Career
In early 2014, she was signed by WWE and placed in their developmental area NXT, which is situated at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
She debuted in the ring as Zada on May 7, 2015, at an NXT home event, where she and Devin Taylor were beaten in a tag team match by Bayley and Carmella.
With a win against Liv Morgan on the January 27, 2016 broadcast of NXT, Jax returned to the ring after a month out due to a narrative injury.
Jax began a feud with Sasha Banks in December, when she was wounded as part of the narrative. This led to two bouts between the two, with Jax winning the first on January 29, 2017, at the Royal Rumble pre-show.
After being ridiculed and deceived by former best friend and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, who body-shamed her and made fun of her personality, Jax changed face in March 2018.
Jax participated in the women’s Royal Rumble match on January 27, 2019, at the Royal Rumble event, entering at number 29 and lasting over 11 minutes until being eliminated by eventual winner Becky Lynch.
On April 6, 2020, edition of Raw, Jax made his comeback, defeating Deonna Purrazzo in a squash match.
Baszler and Jax beat Asuka and Flair at Royal Rumble 2021 to become the record-tying two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Fanene and her aunt, Ata Maivia-Johnson (mother of Dwayne Johnson), were hospitalized on August 2, 2014, after being hit head-on by a drunk vehicle in Clermont, Florida; the driver was later charged with DUI.
