Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar was born on October 11, 1992, in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
Her father is Dominican, while her mother is Trinidadian, with African and Spanish ancestry.
Almánzar grew up in the South Bronx’s Highbridge area and spent a lot of time at her paternal grandmother’s house in Washington Heights, where she credits her “heavy accent.”
