Savitri Jindal was born on March 20, 1950, into the Rasiwasia family in Tinsukia, Assam.
She was a minister in the government of Haryana and a member of the Hisar constituency of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly).
She lost the seat in the Haryana Assembly elections held in 2014. After her husband, O.P, she became the chairperson, who died in 2005 in a helicopter crash.
Political career
Savitri Jindal was elected to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha of Hissar constituency in 2005, which was for a long time previously held by her late husband Om Prakash Jindal.
In 2009, she was re-elected to the constituency and, on 29 October 2013, was named cabinet minister in the Haryana government.
She served as Minister of State for Revenue and Emergency Management, Restructuring, Reconstruction, and Housing in the previous government, and also as Minister of State for Local Urban Bodies and Housing.
The company’s sales quadrupled when she took control of the company.
With a past and experience from the state of Haryana, she worked as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Haryana and held the rank of Minister of Power until 2010 O.P.

Savitri married Om Prakash Jindal, who established the steel and power conglomerate Jindal Group.
In 1952, O.P Jindal, an engineer by profession, founded the Jindal party. It became a steel, power, refining, oil, and gas conglomerate.
Her four sons, Prithviraj, Sajjan, Ratan, and Naveen Jindal, operate each of these four divisions of her company.
