Thompson went to Santa Monica High School, where she portrayed Hermia in a student production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Santa Monica College (SMC), where she majored in cultural anthropology.
She also attended lectures by Lisa Wolpe of the Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company while at SMC (LAWSC).
Career
Thompson made her professional theatrical debut in 2002 as one of three performers playing Ariel in LAWSC’s production of The Tempest. She received an NAACP Theatre Award nomination for her performance as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet: Antebellum New Orleans, 1836 with The Theatre At Boston Court in Pasadena, California in 2003.
Thompson made her television debut as a lesbian bootlegger from the 1930s in a 2005 episode of the CBS criminal drama series Cold Case.
Thompson made her feature film debut as Scarlett in the 2006 adaptation of the horror classic When a Stranger Calls.
