Education
Reigns spent three years at Pensacola Catholic High School and one year at Escambia High School playing football.

Reigns was selected first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 2006.
He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings in May 2007.
After his team physical, he was diagnosed with leukemia and was discharged later that month.
Reigns was signed by the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos in 2008.
On November 10, Anoai was released by the Eskimos and retired from professional football.

In 2010, Roman signed a contract with WWE and was eventually assigned to their developmental area, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).
On August 19, 2010, he made his broadcast debut under the ring name Roman Leakee in a 15-man battle royal, which was won by Alex Riley.
Later that year, Leakee established a tag team with Donny Marlow and challenged Calvin Raines and Big E Langston Tag Team Championship.

Private & early life
In early December 2014, Roman married Galina Joelle Becker.
They met in 2006 while both were students at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
In 2008, Galina gave birth to their first child, Joelle.
