Rihanna Biography

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in Saint Michael, Barbados, on February 20, 1988.

She is the daughter of Monica Fenty, an accountant, and Ronald Fenty, a warehouse supervisor.

Her mother is of Afro-Guyanese heritage, while her father is of African and Irish descent from Barbados.

Rihanna has two brothers, Rorrey and Rajad Fenty, as well as two half-sisters and a half-brother from her father’s past marriages, all of whom were born to separate mothers.

She grew up in a three-bedroom cottage in Bridgetown, where she and her father had a street stand selling garments.

Her father’s alcoholism and crack cocaine addiction impacted her youth and led to her parents’ poor marriage.

Her father used to physically assault her mother, and she would try to intervene to stop conflicts from breaking out.

She underwent several CT scans as a youngster for her awful migraines, noting that “the doctors even believed it was a tumor since it was so intense.”

Her parents had split by the time she was 14, and her health began to recover.

She grew up with reggae music playing in the background.
