Pete Davidson Biography

Amy and Scott Matthew Davidson gave birth to Peter Michael Davidson on November 16, 1993, in the Staten Island borough of New York City.

His father was a firefighter in New York City who died in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.

Just before the Marriott World Trade Center collapsed, he was last seen sprinting up the stairwell. St. Clare’s Roman Catholic Church in Great Kills, Staten Island, hosted his Requiem Mass.

The loss had a great impact on Davidson, who was seven at the time. It was “overwhelming,” he told The New York Times, and he eventually acted out in school as a result of the experience.

He ripped his hair out until he was completely bald at one point. Davidson claimed on The Breakfast Club morning radio show in October 2016 that he struggled with suicide thoughts as a child and that Kid Cudi’s music saved his life.

Davidson’s father was mostly of Jewish descent, with some Irish, German, and Italian ties thrown in for good measure.

Davidson’s mother is primarily Irish, with some distant German background. Casey, his younger sister, is his only sibling.

He was brought up as a devout Catholic.

At the age of sixteen, Davidson tried stand-up comedy for the first time at a Staten Island bowling alley, where a group of friends who knew about his comedic ambitions dared him to take the stage.

Education

Davidson went to St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School, Tottenville High School, and finally Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, where he graduated in 2011.

He went to St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights after high school. After one semester, Davidson chose to make comedy his full-time career.

Career

The third episode of the MTV comedy series Failosophy, which broadcast on February 28, 2013, was Davidson’s first onscreen appearance. The following month, he starred in the first of four episodes of Guy Code, an MTV2 reality TV comedy series, in “PDA and Moms,” a third-season episode.

That June, he performed his first televised standup as part of a second-season episode of Comedy Central’s Gotham Comedy Live, which features standup comedians at New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club.

He made his first of six performances on Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out the following month, bringing him back to MTV2.

Following that, Davidson performed stand-up comedy on television and starred in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In 2014, he landed a role in the Fox comedy pilot Sober Companion, but the show was never picked up for a full season.

Davidson was a roaster on the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber in March 2015, and his stint was recognised as one of the show’s best.

One of his most daring jokes was about fellow roaster Snoop Dogg, host Kevin Hart, and their 2004 movie Soul Plane. That video was “the worst experience of my life involving a plane,” according to Davidson, whose fireman father died responding to the September 11 attacks.

Davidson was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2016. Pete Davidson: SMD, Davidson’s first stand-up special, was taped in New York City in April of that year.
