Education
When the family relocated to Hyderabad, where he attended Hyderabad Public School and Little Flower Junior College for intermediate education.
He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after completing one year of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in Madras, where he met a former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikanth during his Engineering days.
Career
In the 1967 Telugu film Sudigundalu, directed by Adurthi Subba Rao, Nagarjuna debuted as a child actor.
In 1988, he acted with Sridevi and Suhasini in the hit Aakhari Poratam, which was written by Yandamuri Veerendranath and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao.
In 1990, the picture was nominated for a National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Healthy Entertainment.
Nagarjuna featured in and produced Krishna Vamsi’s Ninne Pelladata in 1996.
In 2003, he produced Satyam, a film starring his nephew Sumanth.
He had the flicks Kedi and Ragada in 2010.
On February 11th, 2011, Gaganam was released.
In 2017, he starred in the religious film Om Namo Venkatesaya.
Devadas, directed by Sriram Aditya and starring Nagarjuna and Nani, was released on September 27, 2018.

Private & early life
He married Lakshmi Daggubati in February 1984, the daughter of notable cinema director D. Ramanaidu and sister of actor Venkatesh and producer Suresh Babu.
Naga Chaitanya, Lakshmi and Nagarjuna’s son, was born on November 23, 1986.
However, in 1990, the couple divorced.
On June 11, 1992, Nagarjuna married actress Amala Paul, and the pair had one son, actor Akhil, who was born on April 8, 1994.
Philanthropy
The Animal Welfare Board of India has recognized Nagarjuna and his wife Amala as co-founders of Blue Cross of Hyderabad.
It is a Hyderabad-based non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to animal welfare.
Nagarjuna was also active in the MAA TV association’s welfare activities, and he currently works as a brand ambassador for HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns.
He appeared in an HIV/AIDS animated software instructional made by TeachAids, a Stanford University-based NGO, in 2010.
